Authorizing the Madison Department of Public Health to accept reimbursement from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services Division of Public Health for time spent administering the HIV Partner Counseling and Referral Program to City of Madison residents directly affected by HIV and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the contract for the City.
Body
WHEREAS, HIV infection remains a significant public health issue and contact notification, early identification of infection, access to medical care and social support have been shown to improve long term outcomes and reduce transmission of HIV, and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin HIV Partner Counseling and Referral Program refers clients to local health departments for follow up including referral to appropriate resources, TB screening, and contact notification and testing, and;
WHEREAS, the Madison Department of Public Health has long been involved with community partners, in HIV and communicable disease prevention and control activities, and;
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services Division of Public Health has provided reimbursement for local health departments to implement the HIV Partner Counseling and Referral Program;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Madison Department of Public Health is authorized to accept reimbursement of $50 to initiate contact and $25 for every additional hour of service provided.
