Title
Request from City Engineering to Repair the Outfall at Spring Harbor Boat Launch
Body
The August 20, 2018 rain event caused excessive scour beneath a concrete retaining wall adjacent to the storm sewer outfall at Spring Harbor. The scour caused the wall to rotate and, ultimately, fail. A temporary sheetpiling wall was installed to stabilize the bank until a permanent repair could be designed.
The proposed project will install a permanent repair for the failed retaining wall. The proposed wall replacement will likely damage a portion of the boat launch pavement, which is aged and somewhat degraded. Therefore, the project will also replace the existing boat launch pavement and curb stops with new asphalt and concrete curb and gutter.
