Costs associated with this double-fill are estimated at $7,900, including benefits. The management of divisional salary savings will accommodate the expenditures associated with this action. No appropriation is required.

Authorizing to double fill the position of Streets Operations Analyst from July 3, 2005 through August 12, 2005.
Body
WHEREAS, the incumbent Streets Operations Analyst is to be paid through August 12, 2005 and the new Streets Operations Analyst will be hired effective July 3, 2005 in order to facilitate an orderly transition of information and responsibility; and
WHEREAS, MGO 3.35 (6) (h) states: "The Human Resources Director, with the approval of the Mayor, and of the Common Council if the action requires the expenditure of more than $2,000 and/or is for longer than 30 days, is authorized to double-fill any position for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days unless such period is extended by action of the Common Council."
WHEREAS, the double-fill of the Streets Operations Analyst requires the expenditure of more than $2,000; and
WHEREAS, funding for this expenditure is available in the Street Division's 2005 Operating Budget;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the double-filling of the Streets Operations Analyst position is approved for the period of July 3, 2005 through August 12, 2005.
