Amending ORD-17-00099, ORD-17-00100, and CHA-17-00002 to delay the effective date of these ordinances from January 1, 2018 to June 29, 2018.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: On September 19, 2017, the Common Council adopted Legislative File Nos. 46376 and 46377, repealing Section 3.14 of the Madison General Ordinances. At the same time, the Common Council adopted Legislative File No. 46249, recreating Section 3.14 (recreating the Department of Transportation) and creating Sections 33.55 (Transportation Policy and Planning Board) and 33.56 (Transportation Commission). These ordinances were adopted with an effective date of January 1, 2018.
As a result of the adoption of these ordinances, the City is in the process of hiring a Director of Transportation and soliciting applications for the Transportation Policy and Planning Board and Transportation Commission. It is anticipated that a Director of Transportation will be hired by July 1, 2018.
This amendment will delay the effective date of the ordinances listed above from January 1, 2018 to June 29, 2018, giving the city more time to hire a director and appoint members to the Transportation Policy and Planning Board and Transportation Commission.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
ORD-17-00099, ORD-17-00100, and CHA-17-00002 will become effective June 29, 2018.
