Fiscal Note
The Planning Division 2014 adopted operating budget provides sufficient funding in wage and benefit expense due to vacancies to allow a reallocation of funding toward the higher expense of the new position, if it were filled in 2014. In 2015, the agency anticipates that the appropriation in its Executive Operating budget for wages and benefit expenses will again be sufficient to fund the higher level position by the reallocation of funding for the vacant Planning Technician plus savings anticipated due to a potential retirement a senior position in 2015. Therefore, no additional appropriation is envisioned in 2014 or 2015 for this delete and create staffing change. In general, the on-going, annualized additional expense (at Step 5) associated with the position change is $11,693 for wages, plus $3,969 for fringe benefits, or a total expense of $15,662.
