WHEREAS the existing exterior lamp posts are original to the building constructed in 1926 and are deteriorated and in need of refurbishment, and,
 
WHEREAS plans and specifications prepared by KJWW Engineers dated September 23, 2005 indicates the need to remove, sandblast clean, refurbish electrical wiring and lighting fixtures, and painting of four existing cast iron light posts, and,
 
WHEREAS the 2005 Capital Budget includes funding for building improvements, a restoration specialist contractor must be hired to construct this project, and,
 
WHEREAS Metal Surgery Milwaukee Ltd is the low bid contractor that meets the needs of the project, and,
 
WHEREAS the total contract compensation for construction to Metal Surgery Milwaukee Ltd is $16,720, and,
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the City to enter into an agreement with Metal Surgery Milwaukee Ltd to provide construction for Lamp Post Restoration located at Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Madison, Wisconsin.
