Title
Authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to sign a contract with May Vang, LLC for laundry services for the Fire Department.  The contract period is eighteen months with options to renew for up to two one-year terms.
Body
The Fire Department must provide laundry services for all fire stations.  There will be a total of eleven fire stations with the opening of Station No.  11 (planned for later this year) that have bed and kitchen linens that need laundering.
 
Request for Proposal (RFP) 91110-0-2005/DJ for laundry services was sent out by City Purchasing.  The City received four proposals for providing this service. Three of the vendor proposals were within City specifications as defined  in our request.
 
An evaluation of the three vendor proposals in compliance with the specifications was conducted.  It was recommended that the award by made to the lowest priced vendor, May Vang, LLC.  Purchasing has approved the award to May Vang, LLC.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to sign a City contract with May Vang, LLC for laundry services for the Fire Department for eighteen months, and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract may be renewed for up to two terms of one year each, and
 
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Purchasing Agent after consultation with the Fire Department is authorized to sign on behalf of the City to exercise the renewal option years in the contract.
