Bill's retirement represents a significant loss to the Comptroller's Office and the City of Madison.

Commending William (Bill) E. Kreitzman, Accountant 4, of the Comptroller's Office, upon his retirement after more than 29 years of dedicated service to the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, William (Bill) E. Kreitzman is retiring from the City of Madison on January 16, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Bill started working for the City of Madison Accounting Division on June 20, 1973 where he remained until September 23, 1975; and
WHEREAS, after leaving for new experiences in the private sector and Dane County government, Bill returned again to work in the Comptroller's Office on January 14, 1980; and
WHEREAS, as the City's Enterprise Accountant, Bill has faithfully kept the books for the Sanitary Sewer, Stormwater, and Parking Utilities as well as the City's Golf Courses, Ice Arenas, Civic Center, Overture Center, Monona Terrace Convention Center and the Community Development Authority; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Bill has been respected as a professional accountant and advisor to the managers and officials of the many diverse operations he was responsible for; and
WHEREAS, Bill's skill was instrumental as the City navigated various technology upgrades, leading other accounting staff in the move from main frames to the use of personal computers, and helping to implement three new accounting and housing systems, and two ambulance billing systems; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his many work accomplishments, Bill initiated and continued to organize the highly successful annual City Employees bowling tournament for over 23 years; and
WHEREAS, in his capacity as a board member and officer of the Madison Professional and Supervisory Employees Association's (MPSEA), Bill was an effective voice for his fellow employees; and
