Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution approves a cost sharing agreement for the Rimrock Road Resurfacing Project. The total estimated cost of the project is $6,810,000 comprised of Federal Funds ($2,810,000), County Funds ($1,455,000), City of Fitchburg ($530,000), Alliant Energy Center ($1,100,000), and City of Madison Local Share ($915,000). Funding for the City of Madison Local Share is approved in the 2026 Adopted Engineering - Major Streets Capital Budget (Munis #15674). No additional appropriation is required.

Body
The City of Madison and Dane County are jointly proposing to resurface Rimrock Road from John Nolen Drive to McCoy Road. Dane County is leading the project. Dane County applied for and was awarded Federal funds to cover up to 80% of construction costs up to a cap of $2,810,000. The remainder of the local share will be split between Dane County, City of Fitchburg and City of Madison.
BE IT RESOLVED,
1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Dane County for the resurfacing of Rimrock Road from McCoy Road to John Nolen Drive for cost sharing on the Project
2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign and grant easements or right-of-way release or procurement documents, maintenance agreements or encroachment agreements, as necessary and grant or accept dedication of lands and/or easements from/to the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside of existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
