Title
Authorizing the Mayor and the Chief of Police to accept donated funds for the purpose of purchasing food, supplies and/or services for special events in the Tree/Flower Neighborhood.
Body
WHEREAS, the Madison Police Department assists the Tree/Flower Neighborhood in a summer picnic and Holiday gift give away in December for the purpose of improving police/community relations in the Tree/Flower Neighborhood area; and,
WHEREAS, donated funds are used to support these activities through the purchase of food, supplies and/or services; and,
WHEREAS, Police Department staff will work in conjunction with other community members and service providers in the area to plan and implement both of these activities; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that these projects will improve police/community relationships in the Tree/Flower area.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Chief of Police are authorized to accept ongoing donations to support these projects.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Comptroller and the Police Department are authorized to establish and/or maintain accounts as required for the administration of these projects.
