Fiscal Note
There is no anticipated costs for use of the drying beds. In instances that dredge materials are not removed by MMSD’s removal date, MMSD may assign charges in the amount of $100 per business day until removal.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an Agreement for Use of Drying Beds for Dredge Materials with Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) to define the use of the MMSD Drying beds for City operations. (14th AD)
Body
WHEREAS, MMSD owns and maintains a contained and lined drying bed facility, located at 1610 Moorland Road, and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison does not have a City maintained drying bed facility, and
WHEREAS, The City conducts certain dredging projects and/or contracts with outside service providers for certain dredging projects including but not limited to the dredging of ponds, greenways, and lakes, which periodically produce dredge material that requires proper dewatering prior to disposal of this material, and
WHERAS, The City desires to use the Drying Bed for dewatering and/or temporary storage of Dredge Materials.
WHERAS, The City wishes to obtain MMSD’s authorization to use the Drying Bed for such dewatering and temporary storage, on all the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement.
WHERAS, MMSD wishes to accommodate the City’s request for authorization to use the Drying Bed for the purposes described in this Agreement, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1) That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into an Agreement for Use of Drying Beds for Dredge Materials with Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District.
