Fiscal Note
The resolution would authorize the HR Director and Finance Director to update job classifications and corresponding salary tables to delete classifications that are no longer active. No current employees will be impacted by the change. This will results in online salary tables to be more accurate and reflect current classifications. There is no fiscal impact to the resolution.

Body
WHEREAS MGO 3.54(1) states: “Basic biweekly salaries and classifications for permanent and limited term employees, permanent full and part-time employees, hourly employees and limited term employees are maintained by the Human Resources Department in conjunction with Finance Department;” and (2)(b) states: “Any changes to the salary/hourly schedules, or creation of new salary/hourly schedules, shall be by resolution or ordinance, proposed by the Human Resources Director and approved by the Common Council, taking into consideration any recommendation of the ERC under Sec. 33.10

WHEREAS the Human Resources Department is preparing to implement a new Human Resources Management software program, NEOGOV, that will become the system of record for job classification titles, and
WHEREAS in preparation for the implementation, an audit of existing active job classes in MUNIS, the current system of record, was conducted, and
WHEREAS the audit revealed that a number of active job classes could be inactivated because of the following reasons:
· New classes were created but the underlying class was never formally deleted;
· Job classes have not been used in a number of years and the department does not intend to use in the future;
· Duplicate classes exist in multiple compensation groups...
