Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes a non-competitive purchase with Precision Installations, Inc. to upfit four 2025 Ford Transit vans for the CARES Program at a total estimated cost of $119,012. Funding for the upfitting is available in the Fire Department's capital budget (Munis project #14986). No additional appropriation is required.
Title
Authorizing the City to execute a noncompetitive purchase agreement with Precision Installations Inc. to custom upfit four (4) 2025 Ford Transit vans for the CARES Program.
Body
WHEREAS, Precision Installations Inc. has provided custom upfitting of emergency vehicles for 20 years and is based out of Neenah, WI; and,
WHEREAS, Precision Installations Inc. uses Whelen lighting on the custom installation, which meets Fleet’s goal to standardize lighting used on vehicles to save costs and maintain efficiency during maintenance and repairs; and,
WHEREAS, Precision Installations Inc.’s ability to use the Ford Transit chassis will save additional costs on maintenance and repairs due to our Ford trained technicians, OEM diagnostic equipment, preventive maintenance parts on hand, and the ability to do in-house warranty; and,
WHEREAS, the cost to upfit four vehicles with Precision Installations Inc. is $119,012; and,
WHEREAS, Fleet Service is seeking non-competitive selection to avoid additional delays in getting the new vans into service with the CARES Program; and,
WHEREAS, MGO 4.26 requires Common Council approval of purchases of $75,000 or more if the vendor was not selected through a competitive selection process, and the reasons for selecting this vendor are set forth above and in the attached Noncompetitive Selection Request Form.
WHEREAS, for the reasons stated on the attached Noncompetitive Selection Request Form, Precision Installations Inc. is the only vendor in the area that can provide the specific needs for Transit vans that will be used by the CARES Program, thereby meeting the exception of MGO 4.26...
