Fiscal Note
In the 2016 adopted capital budget Stormwater Utility has a major project for Total Maximum Daily Load mandate Compliance (MUNIS 10343) for the discharges to the Rock River Watershed. $1.06 million is budgeted for the work related to maintaining compliance of the TMDL. The minor project for the Willow Creek Treatment Structure maintenance work is established with sufficient budget authority for the costs associated with the proposed contract (MUNIS 10416). The funding for this project is provided from GO borrowing and Stormwater reserves.
The proposed resolution authorizes the contract addendum in an amount not to exceed $12,900.

Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute Addendum No. 1 to the Contract for Professional Services with Strand Associates Inc. for structural design of a reinforced concrete channel in Willow Creek.
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Madison has previously entered into a contract for Professional Services with Strand Associates Inc. for structural analysis and design of the Willow Creek stormwater treatment structure; and
WHEREAS, Strand Associates Inc. has completed the majority of the required floodplain work for the City of Madison; and
WHEREAS, previously unknown environmental conditions will require additional work beyond the scope of the additional agreement to ensure the long-term integrity of the projects; and
WHEREAS, Strand Associates Inc. is qualified to do this work:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk area authorized to execute Addendum #1 to the existing Willow Creek Structural Analysis agreement with Brown and Caldwell to provide additional consulting services, as further detailed in the scope of services.
