Acknowledging and commemorating Judy Hughes' more than 30 years of dedicated professional service in the City's Human Resources Department.
Body
WHEREAS, Judy Hughes began her service to the City and its people in October of 1978 and will leave City service on June 22, 2009 to a busy and pleasurable retirement; and
WHEREAS, Judy progressed through the ranks in the Department to the position of Personnel Analyst 2, which she has held for 15 years until the present, processing literally thousands of applications for new employment and promotions and ensuring compliance with all City, state, and federal requirements; and
WHEREAS, she has always recognized that the City's employees are its most important resource and is most proud of her commitment to assist in securing the best qualified persons for employment and watching them progress in their careers; and
WHEREAS, Judy has been a consistent expert witness concerning the often complex civil service requirements and procedures whenever called upon to testify in contested matters; and
WHEREAS, Judy's service was not limited to the City, but also to the Madison Credit Union where she served its members and their families for 19 years holding the positions of Director, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Credit Union Board; and
WHEREAS, throughout her career, Judy has been always ready to assist others in any way, leading by her examples of true dedication to the privinples of the civil service and to citizens of Madison;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby commend Ms. Judy Hughes for her excellent and committed service to the City, for her consistent presence as a model for all employees and for her many accomplishments both as a City employee and in the service of the Madison Credit Union. We wish Judy and her family so rewarding a retirement as has been her time with the City.
