Purpose: Conduct boat rental and instruction, concessions and other recreational activities.
Term: 2017 to 2019 with four renewal terms of two-years each until 2024. Renewal will be based upon mutual agreement including the Permittee’s performance under the final Agreement including through the renewal request.
Fee: Under the current proposed operation plan, the total financial benefit to the City would be approximately $81,600. This includes $24,000 in capital investment, $7,200 in vending fees, $26,400 in mooring fees and $24,000 in facility use fees.
Review by BPC: The draft agreement is being presented at the Park Commission in order to review and provide feedback on the overall concept and operational proposal so that Mendota Boats, LLC has confidence in proceeding with boat purchases during the discount season. The Park Commission meeting review of this Agreement is for approval, providing edits or denying the operational proposal. If approved to move forward and after gathering input from the Park Commission, Park staff would revise the document. A final Agreement would then proceed through the standard review of Council, BOE, Park Commission (a second review) and Council in early 2017.
