Funding is available within the 2008 adopted budget of the Department of Civil Rights. No additional appropriation is required.
Title
Resolution approving the double-filling of the position of Civil Rights Director during the time in which the current Director, Lucia Nunez, is on a Leave of Absence.
Body
Whereas Civil Rights Director, Lucia Nunez required an unexpected Leave of Absence and it is necessary to double-fill her position until such time as she is able to return to work;
Whereas, MGO 3.53(6)(h) states: "The Human Resources Director, with the approval of the Mayor and the Common Council if the action requires the expenditure of more than $2,000 and/or is for longer than 30 days, is authorized to double-fill any position for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days unless such period is extended by action of the Common Council.";
Whereas, the double-fill of the Civil Rights Director position will be for a period of more than forty-five (45) days;
Whereas, funding for the double-fill position of Civil Rights Director is available in the Civil Rights Department 2008 operating budget;
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the double-filling of the Civil Rights Director position is approved until such time as Ms. Nunez is able to return to work.
