Title

Public Hearing - AT&T will be extending its fiber optic network within the City of Madison during the next few months, May through October 2008.  This work is being done in order to enhance existing facilities in the Madison Area.

Body

There will be a public hearing, before the City of Madison Board of Public Works, on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 108 of the City-County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Madison, WI.

Cable installation contractors hired by AT&T will install buried fiber optic cable within the roadway limits at the following location:

The west side of N. Few St. from south of E. Washington Avenue to approximately 50’ north of Curtis Ct., crossing to the east side of N. Few St. and continuing to the north  side of the intersection of N. Few St. and E. Mifflin St.  Also, along Curtis Ct. from N. Few St to 445’ westerly.  The cable will be installed using a directional boring operation to minimize disruption to the street, sidewalk and grass areas.  The remainder of the cable placement was approved on a previous permit application.

Restoration of any damage within the limits of the road right-of-way will be completed in accordance with the City of Madison’s standard specifications.  All damaged sidewalk slabs will be replaced with 5’ lift concrete.  All damage done to grass between sidewalk and curb will be restored with a four inch covering of black dirt and seed.  All restoration required within the traveled portion of the roadway will also be completed in accordance with the City of Madison’s standard specifications.
