PREAMBLE
The roadways within the City of Madison's infrastructure are a considerable investment. Proper maintenance of pavements helps extend the useful life of a pavement. Pavements left in disrepair deteriorate and require resurfacing sooner than pavements which have preventative maintenance.
The repair and sealing of pavement cracks extends the pavements useful life. Sealing of the cracks helps keep the underlying base dry providing better support for vehicle loading.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications for Repairing and Sealing Pavement Cracks, Major Streets - 2005 are hereby approved, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertize and receive bids for said project.
