The Gift and Naming Right Agreement provides for the Goodman Foundation to fund $250,000 towards the construction of the skate park. The total budget for the project is $750,000 is included in the Central Park Capital Project (810625) within the Parks Division's 2013 Capital Budget. The funding includes $300,000 in Park Development Impact Fees, the $250,000 Goodman donation, and $200,000 in grants and other private contributions.

The City is constructing a Skatepark at Central Park. The Central Park skatepark is a 20,000 sf facility that includes street and transition skating features and is designed to accommodate a variety of skill levels, from beginning skaters to advanced practitioners. The skatepark will be a lit to maximize the opportunity for after school skating and extend the skating season later into the fall. . The total project budget for the construction of the Skatepark is $750,000. Of this amount, the Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation is proposing to donate $250,000 towards construction of the project.
In recognition of this gift, City is pleased to name the Skatepark at Central Park the Irwin A. and Robert D .Goodman Skatepark in honor of the donors. This name shall remain on the Skatepark as long as the Skatepark exists.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter in a Gift and Naming Right Agreement with the Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation for the Skatepark at Central Park, with the final form and terms thereof subject to City Attorney approval.
