Adoption of Southeast Area Park Development Plans (District 3, District 15, District 16)

City staff kicked off the beginning of the planning process for the Southeast Area Plan in December 2024. As part of this process, the Parks Division has been developing Park Development Plans for neighborhood and mini parks that fall within the planning area, which includes parks in District 3, District 15, and District 16. The process has included holding two public information meetings per district, responding to neighborhood group emails, and working internally with planning and operations staff on the best approach for the future of each park property.
On 08/12/2026, an informational presentation was presented to the Board of Park Commissioners on the proposed Park Development Plan proposals. The presentation included proposals for 7 mini parks and 13 neighborhood parks. Following this meeting, Parks staff are seeking adoption of the proposed Park development Plans by the BPC.
If adopted, the plans shall guide the development of these parks and conform to the City of Madison Adopted Park Master Plan Policy.
