Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution creates a new 1.0 FTE Library Program Coordinator position in the Library’s Operating Budget. The position will supervise the hourly Library Security Monitor staff, create relationships with local social services agencies, and provide guidance to Library staff so they may better serve a wide range of patrons with varying needs and challenges. The estimated cost in 2023 is $25,000 and will be funded through salary savings. The estimated cost of the position in 2024 is $81,000. The Library intends to provide ongoing funding for the new position through savings in the hourly budget from vacant Library Security Monitor positions. If those savings are not achieved, an appropriation may be required at a later time.
