Title
Commending Alderperson Paul J. Van Rooy for his dedicated service to his constituents and the City of Madison from April 17, 2001 to April 17, 2007.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Paul Van Rooy was first elected as the 18th District Alderperson on April 3, 2001 and was reelected in 2003 and 2005; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure he served as the Common Council President for the 2005-2006 term and President Pro Tem for the 2004-2005 term and September 2006-April 2007 terms; and,
WHEREAS, he has served over the years with dedication on the Common Council Organizational Committee, Community Services Commission, Equal Opportunities Commission, Board of Estimates, North Mendota Parkway Implementation Oversight Committee, Plan Commission, Board of Public Works, Senior Citizens Advisory Committee and the Warner Park Community Recreation Center Advisory Board; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to the above service to the City, Alderperson Paul Van Rooy embodied the many admirable qualities associated with a true public servant by representing the 18th District with commitment and dedication throughout his tenure,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Paul J. Van Rooy for his dedicated service to the City of Madison and wish him well in all his future endeavors.
