PREAMBLE
 
WHEREAS, James K. Grey began work with the City of Madison as a Draftsman I on June 8, 1970. He served in various positions of increasing responsibility, retiring on April 6, 2007, as an Engineering Program Specialist II. The majority of his career was spent in preparing rate structures and the accounting of expenses for the Madison Sewer Utility. He was involved in several major investigations requiring detailed knowledge regarding waste water chemical characteristics and volume measurement. Mr. Grey is respected by both customers of the Sewer Utility and City Staff for his industry, passion for accuracy, and belief that the integrity of the rate structure was an essential tool to maintain customer confidence in the utility.
 
WHEREAS, in addition to his professional approach to his work, Mr. Grey was also highly regarded by fellow employees for his self effacing sense of humor, support of his fellow employees in the workplace, and his love for nature.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council do hereby express gratitude to James K. Grey for his 30 years of service with the City of Madison and wish him a productive and well deserved retirement.
