Authorizing an amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and Plunkett Raysich Architects, in the amount of $55,017 for additional engineering design services for Fire Station #12.
Body
Whereas, the City of Madison ("City") and Plunkett Raysich Architects LLP ("Architect" or "Contractor") entered into a contract for purchase of architectural and engineering design services for Fire Station No. 12 on June 29, 2007, and,
Whereas, an amendment to the A/E contract is required for the completion of development and preparation of architectural and engineering design, plans and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance in the bid process and construction administration for the design and construction of a new building, including site development work, for Fire Station No. 12 located on South Point Road, and,
Whereas, Contract Amendment No. 2 is to provide additional architectural and engineering design services to complete site civil, landscaping, architectural, structural, mechanical HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical engineering design for the additional A/E design fee of $55,017, and,
Whereas, the early contract fees were based on our preliminary construction cost of $2,600,000, but the actual construction cost increased to $3,575,222, and,
Whereas, funds are available in the construction contingency budget after completion of construction and,
Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute contract Amendment No. 2 to Contract # 6073 between the City of Madison and Plunkett Raysich Architects to authorize the additional work as described above and payment in the amount not to exceed $55,017.
