Title

Honoring the accomplishments of Isabel Jacobson.

Body

WHEREAS, Isabel Jacobson is an eighth grade student at Madison's Georgia O'Keefe Middle School; and

WHEREAS, Isabel has been the champion speller of the City of Madison for the past four years, the champion speller of the State of Wisconsin for the past two years and tied for 14th place in last year's national competition; and

WHEREAS, in this year's Scripps National Spelling Bee, Isabel tied for third place, spelling words such as "cannetille" and "epaulement," before ultimately being felled by "cyanophycean"; and

WHEREAS, Isabel's accomplishments are a credit to her family, her coach, her teachers, and most of all, to her own hard work and dedication; and

WHEREAS, Isabel's accomplishments have been an inspiration to students everywhere and a source of pride for all Madisonians;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Madison hereby commend Isabel Jacobson for her many great achievements and wish her well in her future endeavors.
