Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute Amendment #1 to the Contract for Purchase of Services with Ayres Associates Inc. for Wingra Dam Design. (13th AD)
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Madison has previously entered into a Contract for Professional Services wtih Ayres Associates Inc. for design of the replacement for the Lake Wingra Dam; and
WHEREAS, Ayres Associates have competed the site design and structural design of the new dam; and
WHEREAS, Construction of the dam will require close inspection to ensure quality construction; and
WHEREAS, City construction inspection staff are less familiar with the unique constraints and procedures required for dam construction; and
WHEREAS, Ayres Associates is familiar with the design of the dam, has the expertise to complete this work, and has indicated that they are available to provide construction inspection during scheduled dam construction, beginning in Late June 2009;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute Amendment #1 to the existing contract for the Lake Wingra Dam design, in order to provide construction inspection services, as further detailed in the scope of services included in the Amendment.
