Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Dane County to participate with, cooperate on and create a Hazard Mitigation Plan for Dane County and the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison currently has no Hazard Mitigation Plan; and
 
WHEREAS, completion and adoption of a FEMA approved Hazard Mitigation Plan is required to apply for and receive grants from FEMA; and
 
WHEREAS, Dane County has an existing approved Hazard Mitigation Plan and is currently in the process of applying for grant funds to update and expand the existing plan; and
 
WHEREAS, Dane County has requested all Municipalities within Dane County to participate with them to create the most comprehensive Hazard Mitigation Plan possible for Dane County; and
 
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Madison to have a Hazard Mitigation Plan;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with Dane County to participate, cooperate and create a Hazard Mitigation Plan for Dane County and the City of Madison.
Fiscal Note
No fiscal impact, 75% of funds are provided by FEMA, the remaining matching funds may be provided in kind in the form of staff time.
