Commending Alderperson Santiago Rosas for his service as Common Council President Pro Tem during the 2005 - 2006 term.

Body

WHEREAS,      Alderperson Santiago Rosas was elected by his peers to the office of President Pro Tem of the Madison Common Council on April 19, 2005 for the term 2005 -2006; and,

WHEREAS,      Alderperson Santiago Rosas served the Council by assisting the President of the Council in the many duties associated with that office; and,

WHEREAS,      Alderperson Santiago Rosas met weekly with Mayor Cieslewicz and Council President Paul Van Rooy, served as vice-chair of the Common Council Organizational Committee and served on the Ad Hoc Committee to Investigate Alcohol Use In Parks and Central City, Ad Hoc Committee on Civil Rights Department, E. Washington Avenue Design Oversight Committee and the Board of Park Commissioners; and,

WHEREAS,      Alderperson Santiago Rosas has met the demands of his additional duties with commitment and dedicated service; and,

WHEREAS,      Alderperson Santiago Rosas, in addition to the above duties, represented the 17^th District with great responsiveness to his constituents' concerns,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Santiago Rosas for his conscientious service during his tenure as President Pro Tem of the Madison Common Council.
