Increase various parking rates for garages and lots |

WHEREAS, The Parking Division manages six parking garages and five parking lots that serve Madison residents and businesses; and
WHEREAS, prior to the COVID 19 pandemic, rate increases were reviewed every three years with the last increase occurring in 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Lake Street Garage is scheduled to close for redevelopment at the end of 2023 which will result in a reduction of 529 parking stalls in an area with high demand during events; and
WHEREAS, revising parking rates will allow the City to efficiently use all facilities and meet changing parking demands; and
WHEREAS, establishing a rate for 24/7 monthly permits at the Wilson Lot will allow for improved management of parking during the evening and weekend hours; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the following proposed parking rates will go into effect on January 1, 2024.
