Approving the acceptance of 200 First Alert carbon monoxide alarms for distribution to low income families.
Body
There is new Wisconsin carbon monoxide alarm law requiring hotels and apartments to install carbon monoxide alarms.  First Alert has offered to donate 200 carbon monoxide alarms for distribution to low income households.  First Alert wants to generate community awareness as to the change in the law and hopes to use this donation to focus not only on the law change but on the importance of installing these alarms to protect you and your loved ones. The Fire Department would be responsible for the distribution of these alarms to low income residents.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Madison accepts the donation of 200 carbon monoxide alarms by First Alert.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fire Department will be responsible for the distribution of these alarms to low income residents.

BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Council and Mayor wishes to extend their appreciation to First Alert for  its donation to the low income residents of our community.
