Authorizing the execution of an Underground Electric Line Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of City-owned land at 901 Plaenert Drive.
Body
WHEREAS, The City Engineering Division leases a property located at 901 Plaenert Drive to the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District ("MMSD") for the location of public Sanitary Sewer Lift Station No. 8; and
 
WHEREAS, the MMSD has proposed an upgrade of the electrical service for the lift station; and
 
WHEREAS, the electrical upgrade will require the extension of underground electric service by Madison Gas & Electric ("MG&E") from the public right-of-way of Plaenert Drive to the lift station facility; and      
 
WHEREAS, as part of the upgrade, MG&E has requested a fifteen (15) foot wide underground electric line easement ("Easement") across a portion of City-owned property at 901 Plaenert Drive; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Engineering Division has reviewed and approve of the Easement.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Electric Line Easement with Madison Gas and Electric Company for the Easement described as follows:
 
A strip of land, fifteen (15 feet in width, located in Lot 1, Certified Survey Map No. 8380, recorded as Document No. 2805197, in Volume 45, Pages 234-237 of Certified Survey Maps, in the Dane County Register of Deeds Office, lying of part of the SW¼ of Section 26, Town 7 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, said easement strip being more particularly described as follows:
 
A fifteen (15) foot strip of land, located 7.5 feet on the right side and 7.5 feet on the left side of the centerline of Grantee's facilities as constructed. The facilities will be located approximately as set forth in the attached exhibit Exhibit A, dated December 2, 2008.
