Amending Section 11.03(1) and (2) of the Madison General Ordinances to include the transfer point as an area of lawful use and to require posting of this subsection by an official sign and not by police officer notification.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  This amendment extends the prohibited use of bus shelters to include the entire transfer point area and require posting by official sign and remove the requirement of police officer notification.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
1.      Subsection (1) of Section 11.03 entitled "Motor Bus Shelter - Lawful Use" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
"(1)      No person shall enter or remain in a bus shelter or at a transfer point except while actually waiting for the arrival of the next scheduled bus routed to the person's destination or except while having business to attend to in connection with waiting for a bus."
2.      Subsection (2) of Section 11.03 entitled "Motor Bus Shelter - Lawful Use" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
"(2)      No citation may be issued for a violation of this subsection unless a Madison Police Officer the area has been posted with an official sign which has notified notifies the person not to enter or remain on the premises."
