Funds are available in the Parks Division 2006 Executive Capital Budget, as part of Project 3 "Park Facility Improvements" (page 91). Total project costs are projected at $220,000, of which approximately $26,500 is provided for architectural and engineering consultant design services.

Authorizing City Staff to prepare a "Request for Qualifications" and advertise for Architect consultant design services for the Roofing Replacement project located at Warner Park Community Recreation Center. (18th AD)
Body
WHEREAS the 2006 Parks Executive Capital Budget includes a portion in the amount of $25,600 for architectural and engineering consultant design services, an Architect consultant must be hired to design this project; and,
WHEREAS the scope of this project is to remove and replace the existing copper roof system with a new roof membrane at the upper gym roof area and the lower flat roof areas. The total roof area is approximately 23,843 square feet. Existing insulation materials are existing to remain. Preparation of roofing plans and details are required for this work.
WHEREAS the existing standing seam sloped copper roof areas are existing to remain and are not in the scope of this work.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes City Staff to proceed with "Request for Qualifications" services which shall include consultant advertising, review of consultant submittals, selecting final candidates, interviewing final candidates, negotiating final consultant contract, and preparing an Architect services contract.
