The proposed resolution establishes a glass-free zone for the Mifflin Street area from 6:00 a.m. on April 25, 2026 through 6:00 a.m. on April 26, 2026. No City appropriation required.

Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council adopted Section 23.36 of the Madison General Ordinances to establish a Glass-Free Zone in a specified geographic area during a specified period of time; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a Glass-Free Zone will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. on April 25, 2026 to 6:00 a.m. on April 26, 2026; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Glass-Free Zone will include the 400, 500 and 600 blocks of West Mifflin Street, the 10 and 100 blocks of North Bassett Street, and the 10 and 100 blocks of North Bedford Street; and
WHEREAS, no person shall possess any glass container on City-owned property within the Glass-Free Zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby creates a Glass-Free Zone to be operative from 6:00 a.m. on April 25, 2026 to 6:00 a.m. on April 26, 2026 in the following geographic areas: the 400, 500 and 600 blocks of West Mifflin Street, the 10 and 100 blocks of North Bassett Street, and the 10 and 100 blocks of North Bedford Street.
