Fiscal Note
The 2005 Operating Budget includes $125,000 in Miscellaneous Appropriations for Allied and Emerging Neighborhoods. $10,000 was previously allocated in support of the Allied Area Task Force. This resolution allocates the remaining $115,000.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into Purchase of Service agreements with organizations approved for funding under the Allied and Emerging Neighborhoods Fund.
Body
WHEREAS, the Allied and Emerging Neighborhoods Fund of $125,000 was included in the 2005 operating budget to fund programs and services which enhance the quality of life for the Allied neighborhood and other similar neighborhoods, and

WHEREAS, Resolution #00290 commits up to $10,000 from this fund in support of the Allied Area Task Force, leaving a balance of $115,000, and

WHEREAS, a request for proposals process, distributed widely to the community, resulted in the submission of 43 proposals totaling $575,027.50, and

WHEREAS, a review team comprised of representatives of the Mayor's Office, Planning Unit, Community Development Block Grant Office, Office of Community Services, and Ald. Ken Golden, reviewed all requests and submitted a set of funding recommendations to the Mayor, which have been approved;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the balance of $115,000 in the Allied and Emerging Neighborhood Funds be allocated for the following programs and services:

Porchlight, Inc.
Up to $15,000 for a Jobs and Housing Connections Project to serve homeless individuals and families sheltered in the Capitol neighborhoods area. (Funding period April - December, 2005)

Operation Fresh Start
Up to $5,000 for the cost of transporting Allied participants to and from the Allied neighborhood as part of their employment and training program.

Prairie Crossing
