Body
Add funding for a 1.0 FTE position in the Office of Community Services beginning July 1, 2009. Recognize $34,000 in revenues from an increase in dog and cat license fees.
 
The title and position description for this new position will be created by the Community Development Division Director under the guidance of the Human Resources Department and in consultation with staff from various City agencies, alders and a citizen member of the Community Services Commission.
 
This new position in the Office of Community Services will perform the following general duties under the direction of the Community Development Division Director:
 
1) Serve as a liaison between challenged neighborhoods, residents, City agencies, and service providers.
2) Inform the analysis related to the Neighborhood Indicators Project and assist in the development of responses based on these analyses.
3) Serve on the Emerging Neighborhood Fund workgroup and participate in the review of applications and the development of funding recommendations.
4) Provide connectivity between City agencies, neighborhoods, and the Neighborhood Indicators Project.
 
(Note: The Police Department is applying for a Project Safe Neighborhoods grant.  If awarded, $5,000 could be used to fund this position in 2009.)
