Revenues and expenditures of $23,400 will be added to the 2006 Public Health Operating Budget. There is no anticipated impact upon cost controls or the tax levy.

Authorizing the Madison Department of Public Health to accept a grant from the State Department of Health and Family Services-Division of Public Health for $23,400 and amending the 2006 Public Health Operating Budget to allow for the receipt and expenditure of these grant funds.

Body

WHEREAS the Madison Department of Public Health (MDPH) has been actively involved in emergency preparedness planning,

WHEREAS the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS) Division of Public Health has received funding from the federal government to help communities plan, prepare, and respond to an influenza pandemic; and

WHEREAS, the DHFS is providing a grant of $23,400 for MDPH to conduct pandemic planning between April 1, 2006 and August 31, 2006,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the City of Madison Department of Public Health is authorized to accept a grant from the State of Wisconsin for $23,400 for the above-described purposes, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign the agreement with the State of Wisconsin, Department of Health and Family Services, Division of Public Health for April 1, 2006 through August 31, 2006, for pandemic planning,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2006 Public Health Operating Budget is amended by the following amounts:
