Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) for Public Health Emergency Preparedness (2026 BOH RES-025)

Public Health Madison and Dane County (Public Health) seeks authorization to accept additional funds of $2,856.00 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) for Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP).
WHEREAS, The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved the 2026 Public Health Madison & Dane County Grants and Contracts Resolution (City File #91054 / County File #2025 BOH RES-021) authorizing the acceptance of $269,975.00 from DHS for the Emergency Preparedness Program. Public Health received an additional $2,856.00 from DHS, increasing the total amount to $272,831.00; and
WHEREAS, Public Health shall utilize PHEP funding to maintain and strengthen local public health preparedness in alignment with the CDC Response Readiness Framework and PHEP Capabilities. Use of PHEP funds for response activities is permitted only on a limited, case-by-case basis and requires prior approval from the Wisconsin PHEP program; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison & Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the agreement, accept and expend the funding, and amend the 2026 Public Health Budget by $2,856.00.
