The Madison Fire Department is requesting to amend the 2016 operating budget to receive a Homeland Security Grant Award through the WI Department of Military Affairs for $56,825.70 to cover the cost of purchasing and placing into service Standardized HAZMAT Detection Equipment totaling $56,825.70.
Body
The WI Department of Military Affairs has awarded the City of Madison Fire Department a grant totaling $56,825.70 for LaBr Detector, Radiation Alarming Personnel (Gamma and Neutron) for $36,484.00 and a RadEye PRD Detector, Radiation Alarming Personnel (Gamma and Neutron) for $20,341.70.
WHEREAS, Madison Fire Department has a contract with the State of Wisconsin as a Type II Hazardous Material Response Team and;
WHEREAS, the grant award requires purchasing of specified equipment and acceptance of award requires a sole source purchase to conform to a standardized equipment cache being established.
WHEREAS, the Department of Military Affairs has awarded the Madison Fire Department a grant of $56,825.70 to purchase standardize monitoring equipment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 2016 Operating Budget for the Madison Fire Department shall be amended to reflect receipt and expenditures of $56,825.70 for the purposes and at the costs described above.
