Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Plunkett Raysich Architects to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the Fire Station No. 12. (9th AD)
Body
WHEREAS the 2007 Capital Budget includes an amount of $319,759 for architectural and engineering consultant design services, an Architect consultant must be hired to design this project; and,
WHEREAS the total contract compensation for architectural and engineering design services for Plunkett Raysich Architects is $269,350; and,
WHEREAS the project is the development and preparation of designs, plans and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance in the bid process and construction administration for the design and construction of improvements for Fire Station No. 12. The project site is located on a portion of existing Lot 2 previously owned by the City of Madison Public Works Department at 336 South Point Road: and,
WHEREAS the new floor plan for Fire Station No. 12 will be similar to existing Fire Station No. 11. Provide additional vehicle space by extending apparatus bays ten (10) feet deeper or eighty (80) feet total depth. The area of the new building is approximately 12,500 square feet; and,
WHEREAS the scope of this project includes professional architectural and engineering design services for site and building improvement that will achieve LEED Certification-GOLD (Platinum desired if achievable with solar site conditions) following the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC) Rating System.
WHEREAS Plunkett Raysich Architects located at 2310 Crossroads Drive, Madison, Wisconsin, has been selected through the "Request for Qualifications" process and "Final Interview" process, and is the final selected candidate in accordance with MGO Section 4.26...
