Commending Alderperson Paul Van Rooy for his service as Common Council President during the 2005 -2006 term.
Body
WHEREAS,      Alderperson Paul Van Rooy was elected by his peers to the office of President of the Madison Common Council on April 19, 2005 for the term 2005 -2006; and,
 
WHEREAS,      Alderperson Paul Van Rooy met weekly with Mayor Cieslewicz and Council President Pro Tem Santiago Rosas to discuss city issues; and,
 
WHEREAS,      during his term as Common Council President, Alderperson Paul Van Rooy served as chair of the Common Council Organizational Committee and served on the Board of Estimates, Community Services Commission, Board of Public Works, Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, and the Warner Park Community Recreation Center Advisory Board; and,
 
WHEREAS,      Alderperson Paul Van Rooy also served on the CCOC Sister Cities Grant Review Subcommittee and the CCOC Legistar Issues Subcommittee; and,
 
WHEREAS,      Alderperson Paul Van Rooy, in addition to the above duties, represented the 18th District with great responsiveness to his constituents' concerns; and,
 
WHEREAS,      Alderperson Paul Van Rooy's tenure as Common Council President was marked by tireless commitment and dedication,
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Paul Van Rooy for his conscientious service during his tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.
