Title

Authorizing City Staff to prepare a "Request for Qualifications" and advertise for Architect consultant design services for the City-County Building Tenant Improvement Remodels.  (4th AD)

Body

WHEREAS the 2005 Capital Budget includes an estimated portion in the amount of approximately $156,000 for architectural and engineering consultant design services, an Architect consultant must be hired to design this project; and,

WHEREAS the scope of this project is the development and preparation of architectural and engineering design, plans and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance in the bid process and construction administration for the design and construction to remodel existing tenant space in the City-County Building. Professional design services shall include architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical engineering, interior design, and other disciplines as required, and,

WHEREAS the tenant remodel areas shall include offices and reception spaces for Information Services 5^th floor, Department of Civil Rights 5^th floor, Municipal Court 2^nd floor, Parks Division 1^st floor, and Police Department ground floor, and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes City Staff to proceed with "Request for Qualifications" services which shall include consultant advertising, review of consultant submittals, selecting final candidates, interviewing final candidates, negotiating final consultant contract, and preparing an Architect purchase of services contract.
