Funding of $37,000 is available in the Engineering Division "Reconstruction Streets" Capital Project.  There is no anticipated impact upon cost controls or the tax levy.

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Engineering Division has established Project No. 53W0039 for street improvements to Castle Place; and
 
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements affect one parcel in the City of Madison located at 944 East Gorham Street; and
 
WHEREAS, RES-06-00871, File 04527 adopted by Common Council authorized the acquisition of 752 square feet of right of way for Castle Place improvements; and
 
WHEREAS, a re-design of the reconstruction project requires an additional 826 square feet of right of way; and
 
WHEREAS, funding for the land interest acquisitions by the City of Madison will be available in Account No.CS53-58110-810355-00-53W0039; and
 
WHEREAS, the property owner agrees to sell the land interests needed for the project at the appraised value of Thirty Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($ 35,750).
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Madison hereby authorizes the acceptance of an Offer to Sell from Christ Presbyterian Church for a parcel of land located at 944 East Gorham Street (the "Property"), as shown on the attached exhibit.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are authorized to be released from Account No. CS53-58110-810355-00-53W0039 in the amount of $35,750 for the purchase of the Property and an amount not to exceed $1,250 for closing and related costs.
 
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign any and all documents related to this acquisition that are necessary to complete the purchase.
