The closing hours at Olbrich Botanical Gardens will be extended to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2005 for the 18th annual Rhapsody in Bloom benefit dinner and dance.
Body
WHEREAS, Section 8.21 of the Madison General Ordinances, "Public Parks to Be Closed During Certain Hours", provides that parks shall be closed at 10 p.m. except where closing hours may be extended by the Superintendent of Parks to 11 p.m. due to scheduled recreational events; and,
 
WHEREAS, Section 8.21, provides that the Common Council may by resolution permit specific parks to be open after 11 p.m. for designated events approved by the Common Council; and,
 
WHEREAS, the 18th annual special fundraising event "Rhapsody in Bloom" has been planned to provide an evening dinner and dance to benefit Olbrich Botanical Gardens until 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2005; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Park Commission recommends that the Common Council approve the extension of the closing hours of Olbrich Botanical Gardens from 10:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. on June 25, 2005 to allow the 18th annual "Rhapsody in Bloom" evening dinner and dance to raise funds to benefit Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby extends the closing hours for Olbrich Botanical Gardens from 10:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. on June 25, 2005 to allow the 18th annual "Rhapsody in Bloom" evening dinner and dance to raise funds to benefit Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
