Commending Alderperson Paul J. Van Rooy for his service as Common Council President Pro Tem from September 2006 to April 2007.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Paul J. Van Rooy was elected by his peers to the office of President Pro Tem of the Madison Common Council on September 5, 2006 for the remainder of the 2006 -2007 term; and,
 
WHEREAS, he served the Council by assisting the President of the Council in the many duties associated with that office; and,
 
WHEREAS, he met weekly with Mayor Cieslewicz and Council President Austin King, served as vice-chair of the Common Council Organizational Committee and served on the Community Services Commission, North Mendota Parkway Implementation Oversight Committee, Board of Public Works and Senior Citizens Advisory Committee and Warner Park Community Recreation Center Advisory Board; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Paul J. Van Rooy has met the demands of his additional duties with commitment and dedicated service; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Paul J. Van Rooy, in addition to the above duties, represented the 18th District with great responsiveness to his constituents' concerns,
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Paul J. Van Rooy for his conscientious service during his tenure as President Pro Tem of the Madison Common Council.
