$53,450 in Federal CDBG funds was approved by the Common Council for Northside neighborhood revitalization projects as part of each of the CDBG Office’s 2009 and 2010 Adopted Operating Budgets, for a total of $106,900 available for these projects.
The CDBG Office will contract directly with the Northside Planning Council for $95,400; this Resolution transfers the remaining $11,500 in CDBG Office funds to Metro Transit, requiring the following budget amendments.

Authorizing the use of $106,900 in Federal CDBG funds to implement two neighborhood revitalization projects which address objectives identified in the Northport-Warner Park-Sherman Neighborhood Plan; authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into agreements with designated agencies to implement the projects; and amending the CDBG Office’s 2010 Operating Budget and Metro Transit’s 2010 Capital Budget as appropriate.

Background:
The CDBG Committee, in cooperation with the Planning Unit, sponsored a neighborhood planning effort in the Northport, Warner Park and Sherman neighborhoods, from which a resident-based Steering Committee developed a neighborhood Plan which included priorities for implementation of specific objectives.
The Common Council adopted the Northport-Warner-Sherman Neighborhood Plan in November, 2009. The Steering Committee has identified two priority projects within the plan, and recommends these projects for implementation through the use of CDBG funds.
