Body

The proposed resolution amends the current System Supply & Maintenance Agreement between Metro Transit and Trapeze Software Group, Inc. to extend coverage for software that ends December 31, 2026, including extended coverage for Trapeze back-office software including Trapeze OPS and associated modules through 2027. The resolution also incorporates Work Order for four TSDE Export services to be performed in 2027, into the System Supply & Maintenance Agreement. The cost of this contract amendment will not exceed $303,469 in the Transit Utility 2027 operating budget.

The modules provided by Trapeze Software Group support several of Metro's operational activities including route development, schedule development, electronic data communication tools, vehicle parking assignments, real-time schedule information, etc. Metro continues to use trapeze to create bus schedules, and the TSDE Export services provide for the transfer of scheduling data from the Trapeze system to Metro’s other operations system.

An agreement was executed between the City of Madison and Trapeze Software Group, Inc. on February 10, 2016 for system supply and software maintenance. The current software is out of warranty and is needed for Metro to run operations on a daily basis. Continued maintenance coverage for the Trapeze scheduling software and associated modules is required through the end of 2027.

WHEREAS, Metro Transit uses a variety of Trapeze software modules; and

WHEREAS, Metro Transit would like to extend the existing system supply and software maintenance agreement with Trapeze to keep all software in good working order; and

WHEREAS, Metro Transit continues to use Trapeze to create bus schedules and requires four TSDE Export services from Trapeze to transfer scheduling data to Metro’s operating system.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a contract amendment with Trapeze Software Group, Inc. to the System Supply & Maintenance Agreement entered into on February 10, 2016 to extend coverage for software going out of warranty in 2026, extend coverage for Trapeze back-office including Trapeze OPS and associated modules software through 2027, and to incorporate Work Order for four TSDE Export services. The cost of this contract amendment will not exceed $303,469 in the Transit Utility 2027 operating budget.
