CAROUSEL ANDREA S. BAYRD, 4901 Sherwood Rd., 53711 (20th A.D.) - reappoint to a two-year term to the position of Adult City Resident.  First Appointed 3-18-2003.

WILLIAM C. WEEDEN, 3030 Maple Grove Dr., 53719 (7th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Citizen Member.  Mr. Weeden is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School.  He succeeds Erica Laughlin who resigned.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

 

*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.

 

Pursuant to Sec. 3.27(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, " … provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience … ."

 

PENG HER, 536 N. Sherman Ave., 53704 (Village of Maple Bluff) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Mayor or Designee.  Mr. Her is a business owner in the city of Madison (Taste of Asia, 2817 E. Washington Ave.)  He succeeds Patricia Jenkins whose term expired.

TERM EXPIRES: 4-30-2010.

 

Rationale: Mr. Her's experience in small business and his leadership role among communities of color make him an extraordinary candidate.  He has been associated in a variety of positions with the following organizations:  Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (Advisor to the Board of Directors), Madison Children's Museum (Project Coordinator), Kajsiab House (Fund Development Advisor), Wisconsin Organization for Asian Americans (Executive Committee Member) and Communities United of Madison (Vice Chair).

DAVID WALLNER, 451 N. Few St., 53703 (2nd A.D.) - appoint to the position of Neighborhood Resident.  Mr. Wallner served as the 2nd District Alder from 1985 to 1995.
