I hereby submit, for your consideration and approval, the following citizen committee appointments.  "Statement of Interests" forms are on file for those appointees required to file.
 
 
ADA TRANSIT SUBCOMMITTEE TO THE TRANSIT AND PARKING COMMISSION
 
IDA W. NATHAN, 7128 East Pass, 53719 (7th A.D.) - appoint to a two-year term to the position of Ambulatory Metro+ User.  Ms. Nathan is retired and dependent on the paratransit system in Madison.  She succeeds Ann Schroeder.
TERM EXPIRES: 3-4-2010.
 
 
DISABILITIES, COMMISSION ON PEOPLE WITH
 
PAMELA ERLANGER, 3902 Plymouth Cir., 53705 (11th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of the current  three-year term and to an additional three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident.  Ms. Erlanger is a retired occupational therapist.  She is active in her neighborhood association and other civic organizations.  She succeeds Michael Howe.

LISA A. JAMESON, 225 S. Walbridge Ave., 53714 (3rd A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of the current three-year term and to an additional three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident.  Ms. Jameson works for Disability Rights Wisconsin.  She is involved with the Wisconsin Academy of Graduate Service Dogs (WAGS) and does design work.  She makes and sells greeting cards.  She succeeds Malika Monger.

KORY S. TABOR, 1 Maple Wood La. #204, 53704 (12th A.D.) - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Adult City Resident.  Ms. Tabor is employed by Access to Independence as Independent Living Coordinator.  She works with people who are directly and indirectly affected by disability issues.  She succeeds Linda Russell.

DOWNTOWN COORDINATING COMMITTEE
*2/3 vote required for confirmation of non-city residents.
 
Pursuant to Sec. 3.27(2) of the Madison General Ordinances, " … provisions of this section shall not necessarily apply with reference to membership on special study committees where in the judgement of the mayor and two-thirds (2/3) of the Common Council, the best interests of the city will be served by the appointment of certain nonresident members who are particularly well qualified by reasons of education, background, and experience … ."
 
*SARAH K. REITER, 1600 Kohler Ct., Waunakee, WI 53597 - appoint to the remainder of a three-year term to the position of Citizen.  Ms. Reiter is director of marketing for Brownhouse.  She is the current president of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra.  She succeeds Maria Banuelos who resigned.
TERM EXPIRES: 10-19-2010.
 
Rationale:  Ms. Reiter was formerly employed as Vice President of Downtown Madison, Inc. from 1998 until 2004 and acted as Executive Director of Madison's Central Business Improvement District. She worked with and reported to the Downtown Coordinating Committee in that capacity. In that role, she became familiar with downtown issues and was an effective problem solver. Sarah was also a downtown resident from 1998 until 2003, living within The First Settlement Neighborhood. She is currently employed downtown.
